TRACK CONDITIONS:
Atiamuri Trail is closed to the public until further notice.
All other Trails are open.


  • This new-look website has been made possible by the generous sponsorship of
        Mighty River Power.
  • With a new team of 8 Mighty River Trackers now employed, development has started
        on Lake Maraetai and Lake Waipapa trails. Planning and consultation continues
        along the Upper Lake Karapiro proposed routes.

        the River Trails project will soon benefit from new equipment to help with further
        development of new tracks.


  • A GOOD DOSE OF HYDROTHERAPY: A good time was held by all on Sunday 30th for the opening of the 5.5km Ongaroto Bluffs Trail. The official opening was held at Whakamaru Reserve with a great turnout and the weather was kind to all. This trail signifies the completion of 25km of track along Ongaroto Rd. Those who took part opted to walk or cycle the 5.5km to Dunham Point, walk or cycle the 8.5km to Snowsill Reserve or went the full distance of 25km.
